Holkham Hall

With a stunning location on the north Norfolk coast and at the heart of a thriving 25,000 acre estate, Holkham Hall is described as an exceptional place, rich in history, architecture and wildlife. The seat of the Earls of Leicester, this elegant 18th century mansion is still very much a lived-in family home which the family take pride in sharing with visitors.

The hall is an elegant 18th century Palladian style house, based on designs by William Kent and built by Thomas Coke, 1st Earl of Leicester. The Marble Hall is a spectacular introduction to this imposing building, with its 50ft pressed plaster dome ceiling and walls of English alabaster, not marble as its name implies. Stairs lead to magnificent state rooms displaying superb collections of ancient statuary, original furniture, tapestries and paintings by Rubens, Van Dyck, Claude, Gaspar Poussin and Gainsborough.

The Lady Elizabeth Wing

In summer 2016 Holkham Corporate Events opened its new, dedicated events venue in the old pottery building near the hall, The Lady Elizabeth Wing, which offers state-of-the-art facilities for over 250 dinner guests, 320 conference guests and 400 guests for a drinks party.

Designed by Hopkins Architects, this is a stunning, contemporary space which works flexibly for small or large numbers. It is suitable for conferences, dinners, weddings, concerts and similar events. Behind the scenes are all the professional facilities that event managers and caterers need to ensure an event runs smoothly and efficiently. The use of this space can also be combined with any other venues on the estate.

Holkham Hall and E+M+C

• Since 2017 E+M+C has been assisting Holkham with the launch of their Holkham Events business and in particular with the promotion of the new Lady Elizabeth Wing as an events and weddings venue.
• We have assisted with the events marketing plan, budgeting and recruiting the team and Eddie Hoare is retained to continue to grow the business in line with a 5 year business plan.
