Eddie is an experienced Company Director with over 30 years working knowledge of the Live Events Market. He managed a number of businesses with from 5 to 25 staff and for 10 years chaired a small group of 4 companies. He is an experienced non-executive Chairman.

His recent commissions include:

March 2019 to present: The Great British Car Journey Ltd – Chairman

GBCJ is a start-up attraction which will tell the story of the British Car Industry from the launch of the Austin 7 to the demise of Longbridge and the sale of Austin Rover to the Chinese. The business also owns the experience provider, Drive Dad’s Car.

The attraction is based at Ambergate at the gateway to the Peak District and in a Unesco World heritage site.

September 2018 to present: Castle Ashby Events – Events Business manager

Produced the business plan for re-opening the once famous Castle Ashby conference venue to the events industry and currently implementing the plan and recruiting the team to deliver the plan.

2016 to present: Bright Vision Events Ltd – Chairman

Bright Vision Events is a Conference Production, Audio Visual and Team Building Business, with an enviable client list of household names. The company delivers spectacular conferences in some of the country’s most prestigious venues and creates effective and imaginative team building events.

2013 to 2018: The International Guild of Specialist Engineers, London – Chairman

The Guild represents and promotes the interests of specialist engineers of classic cars, historic racing cars and all forms of historic motorised transportation.

2010 to present: Hedsor House Events Limited, Buckinghamshire – Part-time Executive Chairman

  • In 2010 produced a strategic business plan for the then loss making events business based at Hedsor House.
  • Invited to deliver the plan and chair the business.
  • Produced 6 consecutive years of profits.
  • Currently working on delivering a new 5 year investment programme.

2010 to 2014: Cannon Bridge Roof Gardens, London – Project Director

Managed the erection of the Cannon Bridge Roof Garden Marquee and the associated infrastructure. Also secured the necessary permissions and licenses.

2008 – 2010: King Tut Special Events Inc Atlanta GA USA

Following the successful management of the Tutankhamun project at the O2 in London, E+M+C was retained to relocate the hospitality operation to the USA.

  • We recruited the team to run the Atlanta operation.
  • We were retained as the project manager.
  • We managed the transfer of the Pharaohs’ Palace and associated assets to the USA.
  • We ensured a successful reconstruction and launch in the USA.

2008 – 2010: King Tut Special Events Inc – Project Director

2008 – May 2019: Single Marque Events Ltd (trading as Mazda on Track) – Commercial Director

2006 – 2008: TUTANKHAMUN HOSPITALITY LTD – O2 London – Part-time Project Director

  • Working with a small team we designed the hospitality product for what will be the UK’s largest attended exhibition Tutankhamun and the Treasures of the Pharaohs.
  • Coordinated the design and planning of the key event space the Pharaohs Palace in the then uncompleted O2.
  • Contracted key suppliers including accountants, caterers, set builders, lighting and AV technicians.
  • Recruited the delivery team and managed the design and build budget.

2003 – 2005: ARENA EVENTS LIMITED – Birmingham – Full time Executive Chairman

  • Oversaw the amalgamation of Elegant Days Ltd and Sellers Hospitality.
  • Coordinated the closure of 5 offices around Britain, launched the combined business under a new brand Arena Events in a new location and established the business as a major player in the Corporate Hospitality and Event Management market place.
  • Took executive responsibility for major tailor-made projects for Arena Events and the Arena Group including GE Day 2003 and 2005, Tarmac Royal Opening, The Royal Show, Bain Gleneagles, Bain Sardinia, Brose 25 and Blackberry 7110 launch.
  • Chaired a 5 man board consisting of Managing Director, Finance Director, Sales and Marketing Director and Group CEO.

2002 – 2006: CORPORATE EVENTS ASSOCIATION (CEA) – Part-time Commercial Director

  • Responsible for trade association accounts, profit/loss and events including the Annual Dinner and Award Ceremony.
  • Initiated the initial merger talks between CEA and Incentive Travel and Meetings Association (ITMA) which recently concluded in the creation of EVENTIA.

1995 – 1998: CORPORATE HOSPITALITY ASSOCIATION

  • Chairman of the Trade Body for the Corporate Events Industry

1996 – 2016: MOTIVATION & MARKETING RESOURCES – Non-Executive Chairman

  • As a founding Director of this innovative and successful Team Building and Incentive Business steered its strategic development.
  • Won the Orange Dealer and Distributors Incentive Programme for 4 consecutive years.
  • Latterly directed its 3 man board.

  • Elegant Days Limited – Bespoke Hospitality and Event Management.
  • Elegant Days Enterprises Limited – Mass Market Christmas Parties.
  • Motivation and Marketing Resources Limited – Team building, Incentives & Conferences.
  • Whittlebury Enterprises Limited – Specialist Hospitality at Silverstone.
  • The Group employed 20 staff in 3 locations and at its peak turned over in excess of £4 million and made profits of over £100,000 per annum.

1983 – 2003: ELEGANT DAYS LIMITED

Managing Director

  • Founded Elegant Days as a specialist incoming tour operator in London.
  • By 1987 Elegant Days was a major provider of upscale incentives and tours for inbound US business.
  • In l988 the American market was in severe decline and in a major strategic shift the business was re-engineered to focus on event management for the UK Hospitality and Conference Market.
  • In 1989 launched Granada Studios Tour as a specialist venue for Corporate Events and held the exclusive hospitality rights for 3 years.
  • Developed Elegant Days into a leading specialist in client-driven events and hospitality.
