Project Description

Castle Ashby

Castle Ashby Walled Gardens

There are 35 acres of gardens at Castle Ashby, including the romantic Italian Gardens, the impressive Orangery and stunning Arboretum planted with seeds collected from around the world. Adjacent to the gardens is the extensive 4.5-acre walled garden with its stone walls and adorned gates.

After over 20 years since it was last available for major public and private events, the Walled Garden at Castle Ashby is being re-launched as an events venue.

The Garden, which is fully enclosed by a limestone wall, occupies 4.5 acres and is entirely lawned with no structures on the site to impede views and affect acoustics.

The venue is listed but is in excellent condition and whilst offering excellent security and containment, there is also good vehicular access for cars and trucks and the land drains well. It is also easily accessible from the M1 and A45.

Castle Ashby Walled Gardens and E+M+C

In 2018 Eddie Hoare wrote a business plan for an Events business to be based around the Walled Garden. E+M+C was retained to launch the events business and in early 2019 the venue was launched as a show ground, festival site, wedding venue and a highly flexible events venue in an exclusive and stunning setting. The project has bought Eddie Hoare and Billie Passchier back together as colleagues after some 20 years and both are now engaged in re-launching this exciting business.

About Castle Ashby House

Built in 1574, Castle Ashby is the magnificent ancestral home of the Compton family and the seat of the Marquess of Northampton. Located in the heart of a 10,000-acre working estate, the house and gardens can be found nestled amidst two hundred acres of beautiful parkland designed by Capability Brown.

After many years as a family home, the Castle will be re-launched as an exclusive residential events venue on an exclusive use basis in 2020.
