Event Management Consultancy for Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs

king-tut-logoIn late 2006 Cavendish Consultancy secured the exclusive rights to Corporate Hospitality at the upcoming Tutankhamun Exhibition to be held from late 2007 to mid 2008. Cavendish had already secured major contracts with the Cricket World Cup and Rugby World Cup and required a dedicated event management consultancy to act as Event Director to manage this project.

EMC were engaged to take on this event management role and Eddie Hoare became the project director. This event management role was especially challenging as the Exhibition was to be the opening attraction for the launch of the O2 Arena in London and much of the planning and early selling was done on a hard-hat site.

A single purpose vehicle was incorporated, Tutankhamun Hospitality Ltd, and EMC recruited a team including the Financial Director, the Project Manager and managed the procurement of designers, set builders and caterers.

A talented group of suppliers including Melville, Wise, GDC and Create, delivered a stunning facility, The Pharaoh’s Palace, which Cavendish Group sold extremely well against the gathering storm of the banking crisis.

The promoters AEI were suitably impressed and the team were asked to transfer much of the operation to Atlanta where EMC recruited a local Event Director and Project Manager to undertake evebt management and assisted in the recreation of the Pharaoh’s Palace in Atlanta.
